Prosenjit Chakraborty

Prosenjit Chakraborty from Banaras Gharana exhibited his talent towards music at a very early age. He isflowered into a one of the leading Hindustani classical vocalists of his generation.

He received initial training from Sri Utpal Bhattacharya, senior most disciples of Pt. A. Kanan of KiranaGharana and advanced himself under the tutelage of Pt. Mohanlal Mishra, one of the foremost exponent of Banaras Gharana (khayal). Alongside, he also enhanced his skills on semi-classical renditions such as thumri, dadra, chaiti, kajri under the guidance of Lt. VidhusiPurnimaChowdhuri.

Prosenjithi has been blessed by the Legendary Vocalists Pt. Rajan and Pt. Sajan Mishra and has performed extensively across India and abroad. He has also set up ’KALPANA’ institute imparting training to classical and semi-classical vocalists. At present more than fifty dedicated students are being trained under “GURUSISHYA PARAMPARA”.Recipient of several awards at Local, State and National level, he has delivered lectures on "Influence of classical vocal music and expression MargaSangeet in our daily life”. For Prosenjitji, music is the door-way to attain spiritual sublimity.
