Moumitaji Learnt in KiranaGharana style under Late Pandit A.T Kannan and his disciple Sri AnjanMajumdar.  Presently, she learning in KotaliGharana style under the guidance of StiSubhashis Mukherjee, disciple of Late PanditManas Chakraborty.

Moumitaji is a1st Class M.A in Khayal from RabindraBharati University, an 'A' Grade in Khayal and B high grade in Thumri-Dadra at All India radio besides, empanelled artist of ICCR. She is a recipient of junior research fellowship from Ministry of Culture, has worked as guest lecturer of Vocal music at RabindraBharati University. Further she worked as Hindustani music teacher cum performer at Embassy of India, Beijing. She has performed and conducted workshops in various countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kuwait and China, apart from India.
