Dr. Avinash Kumar, a Gold Medalist in Masters (Hindustani Classical Vocal), is a seasoned vocal musician who learnt classical music from Smt. Sadhna Chatterjee and Shri Purnochandra Chatterjee. He advanced his singing under the guidance of Ustad Aftab Ahmed Khan of Rampur Sahaswan Gharana. Currently, he is learning music from Pt. Tushar Dutt of Agra & Kirana Gharana and Pt. Somnath Mardur of Kirana Gharana. He perused his M.Phil and PhD from the Department of Music, University of Delhi and is a recipient of many prestigious awards including Tushar Pandit Memorial Gold Medal, Prof. V. Bani Ram Medal and Prof. Sumati Mutatkar award. An ‘A’ graded artist of All India Radio has been rendering performance since 2011. He also works closely with SPIC MACAY, UNESCO, Doordarshan and many other reputed organizations. Presently, he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Music, University of Delhi.
