Belonging to a lineage of renowned Dilli Gharana, Ustad Babar Latif is the 5th generation and son of famous Tabla Legend, Late Ustad Latif Ahmed Khan. True to a tradition, he started learning the art of playing tabla from his father. To advanced himself under the guidance of Late Ustad Munnu Khan Sahib (6th generation of the founder of Delhi Gharana late Ustad suddhar khan Saheb).
Babar Latif is a dynamic solo performer and one of the most talented and distinctive tabla players of his generation. He is well known and credited with technical brilliance, clarity of tone, sensitivity, and spontaneity to melodic nuances. He is also a much sought after accompanist who has shared the stage with legendry Padma Bhushan Pandit Rajan Mishra ji & Pandit Sajan Mishra ji, Sitar Maestros- Ustad Shahid parvez, Sangeet Natak Academy Awardee Ustad Iqbal ahmed Khan saheb, Kathak Guru Smt. Nandini Singh Ji, renowned Rabab player Ustad Daud Khan and many more. He has also recorded Tabla with Pt. Wishwamohan bhatt and many others renowned artists .
