Popularly known as the “Sarod Sisters” Troilee&MoisileeDutta are proponent of Senia-MaiharGharana.
They learnt under the guidance of Pandit Kamal Mallick, a disciple of Pt. ShyamGanguli and legendary Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. Presently, they are being mentored by Sarod maestro Pt. ParthoSarathy, one of the prominent disciples of Prof. UstadDhyanesh Khan and ‘Bharat Ratna’ Pandit Ravi Shankar. Besides, Troilee also took intensive taalim from Sitar virtuoso Pt. SanjoyBandopadhyay of Senia-SahjahanpurGharana.
Troileeji, has been honored ‘SangeetRatna’ from BangiyoSangeetParishad. Recipient ofNational Scholarship(2010-2011) from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, she is a Gold Medalist in M.A in Music from RabindraBharati University and received the degree of Doctorate in 2020. She is now an All India Radio B- High Graded, Doordarshan (Indian National Television broadcast Channel) and SPICMACAY empanelled artist.
Moisileeji has also completed 5th Year from BangiyoSangeetParishad. In addition, she is also a Masters in Physics and is now a junior research scholar in Jadavpur University.
Since 2010 “Sarod Sisters” have been performing in several musical soirees in India and abroad. Their talent earned them blessings from the stalwarts’ musicians and audiences across the globe.
