Artist: Shri Rajat Prasanna

Belonging to an illustrious lineage of music, Rajat Prasanna started learning music at the age of 6 from his grandfather Pandit Raghunath Prasanna and father Shri Ravi Shankar Prasanna. An established and well-received flautist of the Benaras Gharana, Rajat ji is an ‘A’ graded artist from Doordarshan/All India Radio and also a recipient of the prestigious CCRT Scholarship for Young Artists.  Owner of prolific talent, his rendition 'Dharohar 2'- a collection of ragas and melodies released by Times Music in 2002 at the age of 14, attributed him with being one of the youngest flautists with a studio album. Main soundtrack for Dilip Mehta's film “The Fogotten Women” - winner of the best documentary film at the Hollywood Film Festival and Dubai International Film Festival (2008) was also recorded by Rajat ji.  He has several notable recordings and performances in India and abroad to his credit.  To find out more please visit http://rajatprasanna.com/
