Saptak Sharma from Ajrada Gharana started learning tabla at the very tender age of 4 years. Legendary Ustad Akram Khan has been guiding him for the last 15 years. A graduate from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University, Saptak ji is a recipient of Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Academy Award (2014), Bal Shree Award (2007) and Ministry of Culture scholarship. He is known for his collaboration with French flautist Samuel Bricault for French cultural convention, has rendered performance nationally and internationally, is a session artist for various bands and is currently playing with international collaboration Pangaea.
