SayakBarua is committed to sharing the Sarod and is adept at infusing eastern raga style with western traditions of blues and jazz. Sayakji’s passages spark with meditative drones and flickering improvisations.

He holds a Master’s degree in instrumental music from Rabindrabharati University, is an ‘A’ graded artist for the All India Radio, besides holding the position of Junior Research Fellow for the Sarod with the Indian Ministry of Culture.

Widely travelled, Sayakji is Onebeat fellow member and has participated in several national and international music festivals. Most recently, Together with his wife, MoumitaMitra, he has composed music for Bangla Gaan, written by Professor GautamDasgupta of Columbia University, USA
