Yagnyaseni Majumder

Yagnyaseni Majumder, started singing when she was mere 3 years old. She got her initial vocal training on Indian Classical Music from Mrinjit (Student of Ustad Daud Khan Sahab). One day she heard Pandit Samaresh Chaudhury from Rampur Sheniya Gharana, singing in Akashbani and that was indeed a pivotal moment for her. She found her Sangeet Guru and started learning from him under Guru Shishya parampara. Recipient of National Scholarship to young artiste by Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India Hindustani Classical Music (Vocal) in 2002, Yagnyaseniji is a graded Artist (Khayal) in All India Radio and Doordarshan, Kolkata as well as empanelled artist of IWCF, New Delhi. She has won many awards at District and State level including being a District level winner of Rabindrasangeet (1986).
