Born into a family of musicians, Romaan Khan, disciple and grandson of UstadHashmat Ali Khan of AjradaGharana started learning Tabla at a young age from his maternal uncle PadmashriUstaadShafaatAhmaed Khan of DilliGharana. Son of sarod maestro Danish Aslam Khan, he has also received training from his second maternal ShGulzarAhmaed besides Dr. Kumar Rishitosh and Dr. Ajay Kumar of Banaras Gharana.

An “A” grade artist of All India Radio, Romaanji has been performing extensively in India including SaptakFestival, HarivallabhSangeetSammelan and many more.  A degree holder in Masters from Delhi University, Romaanjihas recorded for AIR, Doordarshan and National Television, besides workshops for Spic Macay.  He is working taking forward the rich legacy of his family and tradition.
