In the wake of pandemic COVID-19, upcoming musicians got greatly impacted. They could not conduct or participate in concerts to showcase their talent besides, for some, sustainability became a concern to deal with. Recognizing the need of the hour, Shruti Sarita Art launched virtual Live Baithak series in support the musicians.
The series comprising of twelve performances were scheduled every Friday at 7 p.m. IST, between 12th June to 30th August, 2020, barring the concluding performance owed to unavoidable circumstances. Since digital medium was a first attempt ever, at times technical glitches were encountered but the spirit of the performing artists is worthy of all appreciation and admiration.
The first performance was on 12th June, 2020 by Shri Aditya Dip (Varanasi) on Pakhawaj, followed by Shri Saptak Sharma (Delhi) - Tabla, Shri Sayak Barua (West Bengal) - Sarod, Mohtram Mohsin Ali Khan (Delhi) - Vocal, Shri Aryan Misra (Varanasi) - Vocal, Shri Soumitra Thakur (Delhi) – Sitar, Sushree Lalita Sharma (Chennai) – Vocal, Dr. Santosh Kumar (Sikkim) – Flute, Duet by Shri Ravi Kumar (Mohini Veena) and Shri Satendra Kumar Violin) from Rishikesh, Shri Rajat Prasanna (Benaras) – Flute, Smt. Yagnyaseni Majumder (West Bengal) - Vocal and Shri Prosenjit Chakraborty (West Bengal) – Vocal accompanied by Shri Rupak Mitra on Tabla.
