Debojyoti Gupta was introduced to vocal music at the tender age of four, by his first Guru, his mother, Smt. Leena Gupta and at the same time he was initiated into Tabla.  Subsequently, he started learning sitar from Pt. Ramakant Singh, disciple of UstadIlyas Khan of Lucknow.

Such was Debojyotiji’s talent and dedication that Sarod maestro, Pt BuddhadevDasgupta took him under his mentorship in 1990 for eight years.  In 2000, Living Legend UstadShahidParvez Khan of Etawah&ImdadkhaniGharana has been training and mentoring him.

A graded artist of AIR & winner of national competition of music by Air,Debojyotiis also a recipient of national scholarship in Music from Govt of India three times. Besides being a good performer, he is also teaches internationally.
